After circling the Pole for an hour at 24000 feet (14000 feet above the ice) waiting for the ceiling to lift to the minimum of 1600 meters, we headed back to McMurdo. The hoses connecting the engines with the furnace heaters on the ice bring hot air to keep the engines warm for easier starting.
